The ASUS T91 is a great notebook. It is lightweight and easy to operate. I am a home inspector and use it on all my home inspections. It is a little slow but works great for my applications. I carry the T71 throughout the home as I do my inspections and this eliminates the need to centrally locate the computer which saves time..

I was looking for a tablet computer that I could use to display my instrument approach plate (IAPs) when flying IFR. This device fit the bill! It is easy to use and does almost all the things I wanted it too with only a few exceptions. I can download my IAPs from the internet site I use ([...] - Thanks DOUG RANZ - If you use him, donate to him, Great Service). I can use FOXIT Reader to view these, finding the plate I need and then going Full Screen in tablet mode and BAM! I have it. Battery life is good and the 12 volt adapter is compatible with aircraft using a 12 volt system. I will use a 24V to 12V adapter for mine.

Ok I've read the reviews here and I am not amused... As a computer technician I know and trust Asus products without question,and with my recent purchase of the T91 my trust has only grown.
First off for the yokels that bought this for heavy work loads... you're a moron case in point; with a 16 Gb SSD (solid state drive) and 1 Gb memory topped off 1.6 Ghz processor and a 8.9" screen did you really think that this could handle that kind of work load? And for the idiots that scratched the surface of your touchscreen with the stylus do you poke your wife or girlfreinds like that? If you do bet you spend alot of time "Alone".
As a tech and a Sales executive for my own firm I needed a laptop that 1. I could travel with that wasn't to cumbersome (specially when I'm flying) and 2. when I was up in someones roof or in their wall fixing their network I could still have information and a great test tool at my finger tips. The T91 did that and never broke a sweat...if you haven't figered it out then let me spell it out for you..."I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!" My T91 has taken over as mission critical equipment in my work as a tech, I use her to trace network cables, shorts and hub problems. she connects to my test equipment and gives more information on the problems I face. Wireless interfarence and blind spots are no longer problems that bother me.

So you want a good system to do a few things when you're on the road? want something not to bulky, enough speed to get info on the road, or you're a tech looking for a cheap alternative to buying high grade test equipment on a buget then look no further... The T91 in my opinion is a great buy and a great netbook / tablet.

I've always wanted a tablet PC, and much to my surprise Asus debuted this wonderful netbook just in time for my first semester of college. The T91 is great for online course content, as you can push buttons and click through equations and slides with just a tap on the screen. I've quickly become so used to this awesomeness that I keep mistakenly touching the screen of my older, bigger laptop, expecting a mouse click.

For fun and utility the T91 really can't be beat. I have all my textbooks on board, so it's the only resident of my bookbag save for my note paper. The screen-swiveled tablet mode is great for reading and reviewing slide shows and notes. And walking around campus it doubles as an mp3 player and a (web) radio!

The only minor annoyances are a less-than-perfectly-responsive keyboard (please, Asus, tune this up in the next version) and the 1GB of RAM - I highly suggest upgrading to 2GB, unless you're a more patient soul than I.

This is fantastic product for the price, and it allows for some seriously new and exciting uses. If you enjoy innovation and want a super-lightweight way to read ebooks and stay connected, I'd look no further.

I have enjoyed my Asus T91. At first when the reviews started coming out about this product, I was a little skeptical about my purchase. I bought this product the morning before all the reviews were released. Once I started seeing all the sub par reviews i started having seconds thoughts. I thought If I don't like it I'll exchange it or I'll resell on Ebay. I had to remember what I was getting this device for. I did not buy this for gaming or to do massive work projects or anything of that matter. If you are considering this or you review this product because of that factor then you wasted your money. This is a quick and easy product to pick up and use at any time. I surf the web, play small lil web games, and view movie clips online with this. I will use this to sum degree with my job because of the touch screen features, but I had to remember which most of the reviewers failed to do when I read the media reviews. Give examples on what net-books are for, which by now we should already know. Instead I think many people reviewed this as if you were using this to do all of your work( NOT ENTIRELY). Yes, the slower atom processor is disappointing but it goes back to your not running battlefield on this device. Like any device, there will be sluggish periods when loading things. I own a Desktop, and that is where I do majority of my work. I bought this with NET usage in mind. The touch screen is good, and the touch screen suite that was offered with this product is good but not great. The people that see this product when I show them. LOVE IT!! Its something new and something innovative. It is small but that's what I wanted. Once again if I wanted power and a bigger screen. I would use my desktop.

Keyboard-Small but once you get use to it. Becomes very easy to use to a certain extent

Touch Screen- Good, and accurate, and the Stylus helps.

Overall the product has been a very good buy. I wish it was cheaper but it was worth the money I paid for it. Finger prints are very easy to see, but I am not complaining about that small gripe. I have enjoyed it, and the only reason why I would upgrade is to buy the 10inch version once it arrives. I have been wanting a laptop for a long time, and I felt with the touch screen and being a small device, that this was all I needed especially to carry around and do small business task later on this year for myself. I am not saying this a great device, but I am saying this was worth it for me and my usage.

I hope this helps anyone who is looking to buy this in the future

Stevenson (New Jersey) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful This device is Archos' answer to the iPad and other tablets, and it suceeds on most levels. First, the screen is matte, which while is not as OMG looking as glossy screens, makes the screen more readable since it reduces glare. The screen is pretty responsive for a resistive screen, but the styles is the worst I've seen. The tablet has a webcam and USB port, but you'll have to buy Archos' dock to get video out and more USB ports. The device is solidly built. Programs start up pretty quickly (a couple seconds). Google Earth runs fairly well (until you add variables like weather, etc, then it slows down). Flash is iffy, while regular resolution Youtube videos run okay, Hulu and Crunchyroll videos running badly (I guess Adobe will fix that with 10.1). I've tried Bejeweled 2, which runs slowly, but still playable. HD videos are a big problem because the device uses hardware acceleration, so you can't use VLC or Mplayer to play mkv files. Regular DVD resolution video runs fine. This device makes a great ereader since you can install your own reader programs like Kindle, BN, whatever. This device really shines a comic viewer--just install your favorite comic viewer, right click on the screen to get to graphics options and rotate it 90 degrees, viola, awesome comic book/manga reader. PDFs load quickly and nicely too. Pros: Screen is matte (maybe this doesn't matter to some, but it does to me) The touch screen is pretty reliable (calibrate your screen!) although better with a stylus Ereader! One thing I like using this device for is its ability to play HD videos. These videos just look crystal clear! And since it's a Windows 7 device, you can do everything you can that you do on your PC. Forget about the upcoming Ipad or whatever that device is called. That device has 1/8th (maybe even less!) the features this Archos 9 has. This is entirely untrue, Archos has had plans for the release of this items since before christmas, If anything the IPad is a response to the Archos 9. If I may add the IPad has a maximum hard drive of 64gb, which is to say the least very small. The Archos 7 has a capacity of 160-320gb, and the Archos 9 has a capacity of 80gb still more than the IPad. On another note I thought it very funny that the "IPad" was being joked about as a woman's toiletry item aka the resolution for that monthly problem. On the Go. Screen: You can watch movies on it, very clear in door screen/monitor. however Glare is bit of a problem when you are outside. Even when screen is at brightest, you will have some difficulty with the screen when you are outside. Touch screen isnt as sensitive as the ipod. You are going to need your stylus or push bit harder w your fingers. Also get a screen cloth if you dont want smudges on your screen. Opitcal mouse: really pointless. but better than nothing. Camera. good for on the go video conferencing. emergency photo taking; i suppose. Speakers: Not really worth mentioning. although its better than what i expected. Buy seperate speakers if you plan on watching movies/mp3s or buy a good set of ear phones. Processor: bit disappointed at the lack of CPU power. cheaper tablet modles have more powerful CPU. but is more bulkier. its a give and take. Noise: no fan = no noise. minus some hard drive noise the unit is noiseless. Heat: left side of the tablet gets warm. just bit annoying. guess thats where the processor or video card is located. WiFi: Solid at home. Avg outside, was 2-3 bars at starbucks and slow data DL/UL. maybe Starbucks wifi sucked. Battery: With normal use (running 2-3 programs, word) lasts about 2.5 hours; also takes 2 hours to fully charge. Havent really tried Stand-by. Only can be charged via wall outlet. Kick Stand: looks very flimsy. probably end up breaking in the near future. Comment: When you use the touchscreen keyboard. you lose 1/2 the screen. keyboard size can be adjusted, its still bit annoying. Wish it was bit lighter so i can hold it in 1 hand comfortably. The system Hard Drive is partitioned. 15g for backup. and 40 or so for main. you hae 25gigs free on your main patition. After your Win-7 update. ull have 24gigs free. You might wanna get a larger HD/USB drive. Also, you will need to buy a USB DVD Rom. you cant install any programs w/o it. i recommend [...]usually 55 bucks. on sale for 40 bucks. glossy black is nice. Boot up takes longer than i thought it would cause of system security program. Also went into setting and put it on Best Performance rather than look. Only comes w 1 USB port. if you might want to get a USB spliter. It comes with a coupon for 35 free MP3s off of archos's site. Over all. I wouldnt recommend this to a business looking for tablet PC. BUT i would recommend this to the general public who wants portable/stylish media player/ w some computer capabilities. THIS IS NOTHING like ipad. iPad is designed for solely entertainment/multimedia. if anything. Archos is better; simply because it does everything ipod does + it can do word/spreadsheet processing. that and it costs less. If you want to wait, you can get the MS-Courier, which looks awesome. It is also ideal for education market as it supports handwriting (like note-taking, for exampl, in classroom) with a stylus. It deserves much much more media attention than the crippled iPad. Unfortunately Archos doesn't have the brand power of Apple. I hope this would sell well and Archos would continue to improve that. Like being able to add more RAM (4G!) and hard drive space (120GB!). Auto-rotate screen? And how about add in digital TV (DVB-T) and digital audio (DBA) support? Am I being greedy?
